I just reacquired a Model 29-3 Silhouette with the 10 5/8 inch barrel to rejoin competitive silhouette shooting groups.

What holster and carrying case has anyone found they really like? This piece has a scope, so carrying cases-holsters will have to take this into account. But I want a way to safely store and travel with it.

Thanks to All,

Carl

A hard side case, (like a brief case made for guns), will protect and make carrying it to the range easy. It should have enough room left over for a couple boxes of ammo and ear muff's.

GOOD POINT-Thanks!
Have 1 case for multiple items. Logical

We don't use holsters during IHMSA competition. "Totes" are required for moving firearms on and off the line. Some photos showing said in the old thread linked below. See Posts 1, 11, 15, etc.:

Hot day for IHMSA

H Richard is right on the money about what you need to protect your guns. In 1980 I foam lined an old briefcase to carry 2 S&W Silhouette guns, both with Leopold 4X EER Scopes and both with 8 3/8” barrels. Those guns still rest in the same case today. Easy to do yourself, just be sure and use good quality foam (non moisture absorbing) and always wrap your pistols in anti rust paper. You can do it relatively easy.
