2nd Gen Front Sights

I picked up a 469, but the front sight needs to be "brightened up" or repainted for a better sight picture. Any answers? Thanks for the help.

Novak can machine your slide and install a nice set of their sights. Not the cheapest option for sure but you can't criticize the results on my 669.

Those do look good.

Clean and degrease the sight thoroughly, apply a base coat of flat white enamel paint, then apply your preferred color paint. That is the least expensive upgrade to a front sight that is integral to the slide.

I would add to "stansdds" comment that I have found that Testers model paint works better than most other paints. May have to find it it in a hobby store.

For all my iron sights, I paint them with Testor's neon green paint. My eyes pick it up extremely well, and it's been very durable.

I like Testors hobby enamel paint too.

I started using fingernail polish years ago on my sights and it holds up very well. Also and perhaps more importantly is I found a much greater array of colors available in nail polish than in hobby paints.

I also have found a two tone front sight schema that works best for me. Image below. This paint is 8 yrs old now.
