Everybody knows the middle child gets no notice as it seems to be with the 2nd Model 44 Hand Ejector. Perhaps it is because both the older and younger pre-war brothers have cute nicknames (Triple Lock and Wolf & Klar respectively). It seems to me this is one of the most underrated and value priced 44's out there.

This 2nd model was my first 44 It letters as shipped on Jan.14, 1924, and went to Emmons-Hawkins Hardware, Huntington, WV. Leather is by forum member 05carbondrz. Knife was my grandfather's in the 1920's.

Let's see yours...

Hi
The 2nd Model shown below is a 2nd model in Cal. 44/40 shipped in 1916
it is the only one that is known to have been made on a special order.
It is in 99% condition all matching and as it was shipped from the factory.
I have owned this revolver since 2007. It was purchased with 6 other rare guns from a well known collector.
The last time this gun was on sold on auction was about 12 years ago, at that time it was sold for the highest price that was payed for a S & W.

Pardon the lack of photos, but...

I found my Second Model for sale by Lyle Larkworthy in Texas, in 2006. Turned out it has a Utah connection. It's blue, six inch barrel, fixed sights, original walnut checkered service stocks with large silver medallions Probably 80-85% blue left. Rollmarked on the back strap is "UTAH HIGHWAY PATROL 8". S/N 36483, it was shipped out here in January, 1932. The UHP issued them until they converted to the S&W .357 Registered Magnum a few years later.

Your pardon is only temporary... we need PICTURES!
