Having problems with double action mode{ very rough} when single action mode silky smooth. Has been to one smith already but no improvement. Any long action men out there with some ideas.? This one built in '31 and should be better. Would appreciate it. Gun has seen very little use. Surfaces internal appear in spec. Thanks

How does it feel when you cock the hammer back? It is a good chance you have a burr on the end of the yoke inside the cylinder (or crud) when you pull the trigger in DA you are pushing the cylinder against the yoke which would magnify anything inside. If you can kind of feel something when you cock it SA (it wont be as pronounced) that is where I would look.

Appreciate the reply 29. Everything SA is butter smooth. Checked for a burr as you suggested and found nothing. On dissassembly while trying to observe the glitch, I noticed something. There seems to be some sort of interference between the lever on the hammer and the notch in the trigger in DA mode. Don't know how to relieve it but will keep checking. Thanks again for the tip. RS
