I put the second box of ammo through my new SD40 VE this morning. A friend and I went to my hunting lease to check on turkeys so I took my pistol along for some exercise. We went down to the creek and picked up some cans and shot them. We both shot real well and the pistol performed flawless. I think the trigger is smoothing some. I really don't mind it, I am pretty accurate with the pistol, especially only having ran two boxes of ammo through it. Today's ammo was the Winchester SXZ 40, 180 grain. It runs great in the SD40 VE. We shot a box of the FMJ and one mag of Personal Protection and both shot without a hiccup. I like my SD40 VE even more. I'm another satisfied customer.

Thanks for the input. I've given these some thought lately. I'm personally leaning toward the 9mm SD but would consider the 40.

I started out wanting the 9. But the more I thought about it... I already had a compact 9mm and I didn't have anything in the 40 cal, and right now 40 cal ammo is a lot easier to find. The 40 gives me more options and that little extra firepower. I went with the 40 and I'm glad I did.

Loving mine. Wife loves it too. She now wants a .40 over 9mm. :)

I've found that I really like the .40. I've an M&P 9mm & the SD40ve. The M&P is a great gun. However, it seems that getting 9mm rounds is nearly impossible becasue our GOV is purchasing millions of rounds for target practice (yea right). I could have gotten the SD9ve & the SD40ve for what I paid for the M&P. Still you can't go wrong with the SD line. I just wish S&W would come out with some cheaper mag's.
