I realized that I have not posted these slabs of sweetness since adding Culina Grips to two of them (and maybe all three...)
All by Jack Huntington (JRH). I had all these built before the introduction of the Model 69, or they would have been harder to justify.
All of these only see 250 gn cast at about 1000 fps.
Even that load can be pretty violent in one of the all Scandium pieces. (396, 296)
These hit a sweet spot in packability and shootability.
686 with a rebored 357 Mountain Gun barrel and a 696 cylinder, wearing Culina Buckeye Burl magnas. (35.4 oz dressed as shown)
This one also has a fitted TI cylinder that I never swap in. Buckeye Burl is one my favorite grip materials. A good piece has so much going on.
686 with a 396 Barrel and Ti Cylinder, wearing Culina Purpleheart magnas. (29.5 oz dressed as shown)
681 with a cut down 396 barrel/shroud and cylinder, wearing Walnut magnas I found on ebay advertised as Culina's. If they are, Culina did not do the finishing, but the shape is very close. (27.7 oz dressed as shown)
