I did not communicate that very well.It does have a SN (K500000) stamped on the grip frame, just no model number stamped in the yoke area of the frame - kind of like a pre model numbered gun.

Well, that serial number would be hard to remember. Don't know how you do it!
FWIW, a butt load of plastic fantastics don't have model numbers on the gun. Thankfully, most have a model number or sku on the box, which, with a new gun, is not an issue. I'm in MD, and that makes a difference on a "modern" handgun.
ETA: I have a 2 1/2" M19 without the model number under the crane. Or serial number.
