A lady acquired these from her husband and asked me to try to sell them, I know she could use the money so I told her I would help her if I can. These are as I got them and not yet cleaned up also two of the boxes have a broken hinge each and the one 29-2 has a little bit of pitting on one side of the barrel. Any help as far as value would be a great help, one fellow offered her $200.00 each and he would take them all that was enough for me to tell her I would help. I tend to be quite busy so if there is a question might take a day or so to get back to you. The Model 57 is the lower left. What I am looking for is an honest value. I'd like to buy them all but revolvers such as these are out of my price range. My 686 will have to suffice. Thank you

The guy who offered her $200 each tried to rob her. Even a gun shop's low ball offer would be higher than that! A better rule of thumb / ballpark figure would be $1,000 each. That would go up or down depending on year of manufacture, rarity, condition, etc. And it could go up a lot...

It may help if you could give the serial number of each. You can xx out the last two or three digits if you so desire. Also, compile a list of features for each one. A couple look like they are nickel. A couple of barrel lengths look to be 6-1/2 inches.

Anyways, I hope this gets things started for the lady.

Make sure that you tell her that the guy that offered her $200 for each of them is a piece of garbage.

The 57 is worth at least $1200, maybe more
The 8 3/8" 29-2 is worth at least $900
Each of the 6.5" 29-2s is worth at least $1200

Here is my advice, put them all up for sale on this forum.

And price them around for what I have recommended. I feel you will get.

Have a local gun shop do an FFL transfer to the buyer.

If that is a hassle then bring all 4 to a local gun shop and CONSIGN all four of them. Tell them you want to list them for approximately what I listed as prices. If it is a gun shop that has good foot traffic, they will sell.

Those are excellent revolvers, and are worth a lot more than $200 each.

That is a very desirable group of guns. As stated above, some more info regarding condition and serials would be very helpful to provide better valuations. When you do get ballpark values, you should consider giving a fair price to the lady and acquire them for yourself. Opportunities like this do not come around very often. Personally, I'd love tho have them all.

The one with the pitting on the barrel looks like its stocks may be discolored as well. These problems will depress the price of that one at least a little. It should still make a good shooter / carry gun for somebody. My guess is that with box / tools / documents it should sell for $800, maybe more. The gun alone may go for around $600, give or take. Pitting is a major flaw.

I would suggest marketing them here in the Forum Classifieds. Take your time. It may work best to sell one at a time. Write up a good honest description and take a bunch of clear pictures. You can always start by asking a price at the high end of the range and come down. You will learn more as you go along and if you make a mistake, at least you did not make that mistake on the whole group.

Collectors may be willing to pay $1200 for an extremely nice -2 N frame (98%) in a perfect case with "like new" tools and complete paperwork - but I see bad cases, missing paperwork, used tools, bluing loss, scuffs, etc.

I think she would be doing well to get $800 for these and maybe $600 for the worst one.

I find it very hard to unload imperfect guns for big money. It just doesn't happen in todays economy or on this forum.

That all said - it's still a heck of a lot more than the first guy offered her. Good luck and best wishes to her.:)
