I recently pick-up my first new to me MI and now ammo prices have either gone to the moon and/or availability of quality product is nil. Same thing with 15rd magazines. Lake City would be a treasure to have and behold. But by the time I could get all my ducks in a row it would long gone. Thanks for all your response. What would be ideal for me is to find someone in Austin that has previously purchased from CMP that want's to split an order. Don't laugh, a man can dream. LOL

You should fill out the paperwork and give it a try you just might make it. If it's sold out by then you would still be in the system for the next thing that comes up.

I was very lucky A friend of mine was the 3rd shift commander of my local P.D. someone dropped off a sealed spam can of U.S. .30 carbine ball on strippers in bandolears and since he sold his carbine he gave it to me.:D
Last spring I ordered 1000 rnds of Agila 110 gr.soft point from AIM surplus if I remember right I got it for $15.00 a box of 50 I'm glad I got it when I did.:p

If you are not already set up to buy from the CMP, by the time you are, this stuff will be long gone.

I have a can of that CMP carbine ammo . Looks brand new and shoots great .

Several years ago I was fortunate enough to find 400 rounds of Korean War-era LC .30 Carbine for $15 at an estate sale. I have several thousand rounds of GI stuff from WWII and Korea, but I shoot only reloads in my Carbine. I just can't bring myself to shoot up that new military ammo.
