CNN is reporting sometime between Saturday March 30th and Monday April 1st. Thief's broke into a Money storage facility and made off with 30 Million in CASH. Entry was made through the roof. No other details were given.

It appears that the bandits decided to Go Big Or Go Home. I know I should not feel this way, but I can't help but admire anyone who has a set of stones to pull a caper like that.

So I'm not the only one who often has begrudging admiration for the bad guys when they pull off a heinous crime. I'm sure the psych profession has a name for it, although I think "conflicted" covers it quite well.

This is allegedly 1 million in cash. Hauling 30X that amount out through the roof wouldn't be easy.

I can't imagine any way to get away with it and stay in the United States. I also can't imagine any way to get that much money on an airplane anywhere.

I don't see how they could spend that much money without somebody noticing it.

ETA to paraphrase Hans Gruber, if you steal $30 you can just disappear but if you steal 30 million dollars they will find you

According to the article, the theft occurred at an "unnamed" money storage facility that held cash from local businesses...

Hmmmm.... Why wouldn't 30 million be earning 5% interest? They're giving up $125,000 per month!

The only businesses I can think of that can't put their money in a bank are pot shops.
