.312 bullet source

I want to start reloading 32 S&W long, I can't source bullets from my regular lead pusher, his supplier doesn't cast for 32s. Can anyone point me towards someone that casts .312 wad cutters and or semi-wad cutters. I really don't want to use the cowboy flat tip round nose.

Is there some reason you specifically want a .312" bullet? Most discussions in which I've been involved tend toward .313-.314" bullets which are also easier to buy on the commercial market. Do yoU want to go round nose, semi-wadcutter or full wadcutter? I believe either Speer or Sierra offers/offered HBWCS up until recently, and I've had super results with the long-discontinued Hornady swaged SWCs and HBWCS, but of course I can't recommend trying to find them.

Here's what I use in my 31-1.

32 CAL 100 Grain RNFP - COATED


These are .313 like most casters sell.

.312 is normally a FMJ bullet.

I no longer have any .32s, but did have a couple of S&Ws in .32 S&W Long. I used my own cast bullets and ran them through a .314" die. I don't recall if they came out exactly .314"; could have been slightly smaller as is sometimes the case, but I'll bet .314" or maybe even .313" will work well in your gun. .312" might, but I would guess that would be too small for best accuracy. If it is undersize, such a bullet might lead the bore, too.

Best thing to do would be to get small samples of each size, maybe fifty or a hundred, but that may not be easy to do.
