317 "airlite" clear coat

i found on of these at a pawn shop. man, its literally like holding air in your hand. 8 rounds of 22 shouldn't make this thing more than 12-13 ounces. The problem is the clear coat is yellowed and marred. What would the factory charge to recoat? Even though it has the ugly zit on the side, i kinda liking the thing.
btw, i have not purchased it, just thinking about it

Please let us know what you find out from the factory about recoating. I have a 3" that I like a lot, it's an older pre-lock version with blued ramp front sight and adjustable rear. The cylinder on mine is starting to take on a yellow color, but so far the frame is still silver.

if the price is right just buy it and shoot the heck out of it,sometimes it's nice to not have to worry about messing up a nice gun.
