I have a 32 cal hammerless revolver that I am trying to find information on. I would appericate any help that I could get.
I have found what I think is a picture of it on the internet. I believe that it is a second edition because it has a pinned front sight. I have found what I think is the serial number on the bottom of the grip. It is not a blued finish but I don't think I would call it stainless either. Could someone help by telling me where I could find manufacture date? I am also looking for a set of original grips and a firing pin for it. I would also appericate any suggestion of what to use to clean the finish without damaging the finish? It is in need of a good cleaning. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the Forum. Tell us the serial number and all markings & patent dates on the barrel, barrel length, type of grips, etc. and we can tell you when it was made and the exact model, etc.

Thanks for the reply. Here is what I found
Bottom of grip frame 34940
3" barrel
Across the center of barrel
Smith and Wesson Springfield Mass USA pat D feby.

This is the best I can make out. I don't have a clue what goes in the blank. I did notice a small 2 (which looks like a 2 for squared) at the end of the second line.

It has two different grips on it. One side is a dark brown and the other side is white. I am not sure which is the original.

Looks like a model 1 yours probly made in the early 1890's they made them with blue finish and nickel plated no stainless in them days probly nickel plated i would think that you have there unless the finish is peeling off don't put hope's number 9 on it not good for nickel finish guns makes the nickel plating peel off quicker as for your firing pin try Numrich Gun Parts they may have one, love them old guns show us pictures we love to see pictures..
