A neighbor of mine is interested in a nickeled 38 Safety
Hammerless 5th model I have. It has the 3 1/4 " bbl.
and walnut grips that number to the gun. I also have a letter
for it that shows it shipped in 1923. The SCS&W says walnut
grips on this model are scarce, and have a small premium if
numbered to the gun.

I was wondering if anyone has the SCS&W 5th edition that
would have a price on this item in the very good to excellent
condition to help me come to a sell price.

Thanks in advance!

Letter says it shipped on February 1, 1923, and delivered to Andrew Harris Co., Providence, RI. The records indicate that
this revolver was shipped with a 3.25 inch barrel, nickel finish
and checkered walnut grips.

What's the condition of this revolver? What do you want it to be worth?

The trouble is, an antique nearly brand new Safety Hammerless in original box is $1,000 more or less these days, and with no box and/or later and/or no condition, it goes significantly downhill from there. Add in a small premium for walnut stocks on a low value revolver and it's still only worth a little bit more.

Over quarter million made, so very common. Fairly unpopular carry gun, unpopular caliber, and not good for target shooting so excellent examples are found often. We have no pictures to view and do not know if the box has a matching serial number?
