I recently bought a Ruger LCR 327 Magnum, and I have 32 H&R cases as well as 327 cases. I always use the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook for reloading cast bullets. I also purchased a 98gr full wadcutter mould to use for target shooting and hopefully CCW as well. I use Bullseye and Unique in a lot of my reloading, so I am hoping that someone here can help with loads for the two powders. I bought the LCR before I knew they were coming out with a J Frame in 32 H&R ....thats my luck. I have a 442 as well but wanted one more round plus the ability to shoot faster and more accurate than the 38 special. If I can find some 32 long cases I will reload them for my 32 I frames that I picked up as well. Thank you for any help.

I started loading .32 H&R 98gr DEWC with 2.3gr of W231 (Speer's starting load for HP-38 out of Speer 12th Edition). That's also where I stopped. It just plain works. I haven't chrono'ed this one, but I will soon. Speer manual says 740fps.

Same book lists Unique 2.8gr - 3.0gr.

Bullseye: 2.1gr - 2.3gr

Although I regularly use Unique and Bullseye, I have not tried them for .32 HR.

All of these loads are also in the One Book / One Caliber load book for .32 HR available from Midway, Dillon, etc.

To emphasize, these are .32 HR loads.

I have shot a lot of that style, [double end wadcutters] in 38s. They can be kept accurate out to 50 yards. I think the RCBS 98 swc is the most accurate cast bullet out of my 32's.

I realized, I was mistaken with this statement. I haven't tried Unique with this bullet.

I use Unique all the time with a 98gr SWC. I have been very happy.

I tried Unique with Sierra's 90gr JHC, but results were mediocre. H110 works much better for me with that bullet.

This is the bullet I plan to load if I can buy one of the new S&W .32 H&R ultimate carry revolvers. Very good quality from this bullet maker.

RCBS 32-98-SWC 98 gr.

That bullet has worked very well for me. The nose sits out quite a ways infront of the case, which gives you a little extra room for powder. I do not use either of the powders you suggest, but have had good success in both .32 SWL and .32 HRM with 231 in the former and Universal in the latter. Of course finding Universal is like looking for hen’s teeth, so eventually I’ll have to find something else. I tried several powders in .32 HRM and Universal gave best accuracy in my 4-inch 631.

Never used Universal in any 32s. I recently picked up an 8 pound jug from an estate sale. Cheap too. It seems to load good in the 20 and 28 ga as does Unique
