32 HE MOD 1903

Just got this S&W 32 HE serial # 46487. I think is a mod 1903 1st change. It is nickel in about 95 % condition and appears to be factory engraved. Any info on this one would be appreciated.

My bet is after market , or maybe dealer engraved. Typical elementary scroll with punch dot background, over done, for a factory effort, I think, but attractive it it's way. Get a factory historical letter and see what the shipping records say. The gun was originally made June 10, 1906, as a blue gun with black hard rubber stocks. Ed.

The hammer and trigger appear to be nickel plated which is not typical S&W factory issue. Also I doubt the factory engravers would have incorporated a bulls head into the side plate. Still, the engraving is a plus.

That's the first flag that caught my eye, but I'm no authority on engraving either......Ben

Nice gun. Without the gold medallions, the pearl stocks are not factory either, but still a nice touch.
