I have shot a bunch of Corbon 45 Autorim through the 625 PC JM that I own with no issues. I was at the range getting ready to shoot my new 325 PC Thunder Ranch with the same loads and a friend said, "hold on, the lightweight framed guns will not take the Autorim since they have a recessed chamber and the Autorim will damage them."

Is this correct? Are there issues or dangers in using the Autorim with these guns?

Please let me know, as I don't want to have problems and while I can and do use the moonclips, I find 'de mooning' them a pain in the butt, and prefer to use the Autorim.

Dave

The chamber in the 325 TR is not recessed, it is cut for moon clips. Insert one of the auto rim cartridges in and see for yourself.

The statement by your friend is wrong and misleading. The cylinder is all that matters when it comes to cartridge support. A lightweight frame has nothing at all to do with how the cylinder is cut or what it fits.

There is no issue in using .45 Auto Rim in your 325 TR.

Thanks. I thought so, and I did check the gun and did not see an issue. At age 63, my close vision isn't what it used to be, although I can still shoot a small, neat hole down range. I was just being cautious. Dave
