I have a 325 TR revolver and am looking to add a weapon light. Smith made it easier with the inclusion of the under-barrel rail mount, so I've done some research and come up with the Streamlight TLR-1 or perhaps the smaller TLR-8, either with or without the laser option. I would like to hear from anyone who has mounted a light onto their 325, and what they use. I haven't done too much research on the Surefire brand, but that may also be an option.
I'm trying to keep the overall length of the gun with mounted light as short as possible (light not projecting to far over the end of the barrel, if at all), as I keep it in a Hornady nightstand safe, and fitment in the safe may be a problem.
The switch location is not too much an issue, because with the revolver I would not be able to keep a "thumb forward" grip as I would be able to do with a small semi-auto. Any opinions are welcome, thanks...

I'm currently real happy with the TLR-4 on mine. Not the brightest in the world, but certainly bright enough for me. The laser seems pretty neat and the package blends together fairly well. I also use an Olight Valkyrie from time to time, and it fits well and is certainly pretty bright. TLR-1 seemed...somehow off. Just somehow didn't seem to jibe, though I'm sure it would have been effective

Thanks for information. Not familiar with the TLR-4, but I'll take a look. Probably will go with the laser option either way. The biggest problem I see with the TRR-1 (or TLR-2) is the size. I don't think it will fit in my Hornady safe, so one of the smaller models would be the way to go. A lot of online retailers are having sales or holiday specials right now, and prices aren't too bad regardless of model.
