I tried to find answers to these via google, but no luck.

I currently own a 5" 627, which probably my favorite range toy of all time. Now I am considering a 327 TRR8 for HD and possibly CCW.

Two questions:

1) The rear sight on the TRR8 is listed as "v notch". How hard is it to replace with a square notch?

2) Holsters. I'm pretty sure I would go Simply Rugged for CCW. But for HD, I want a light attached (preferably a TR1). Anyone making a holster for a 327 with light?

Thanks all!

Go to RevolverSupply.com or 4wheelguns.com they have rear sight assembles that are easy to install. Just unscrew the old one and replace.

I bought one last Sept & it does not have the V-notch rear blade. I haven't seen a current model with one either. The website is wrong. (I added the red Hi-Viz front sight.)

You'll really like it. I prefer it over my 627PC.

I've had a TRR8 for nearly a year, and it is my favorite range pistol. The rear blade is a standard square notch with a white outline. The front blade is spring-loaded and replaceable. Mine came with a gold bead Patridge style, but I replaced it with an Hi-Viz red FO.

Without the rails, it will fit nearly any 5 or 6" holster for an N-frame Smith. Detroit Holster and possibly Safariland make holsters to fit a revolver with a light. That's too much for me. I installed Crimson Trace laser grips for HD, which don't require a modified holster. I'm satisfied to hold the flashlight in my left hand.

Under-barrel lights are not very practical on a revolver. It takes a separate motion to operate the switch, on or off, which places your hand in front of the barrel gap. I don't like them on pistols either, even though you don't risk slashing your hand with hot 40 KPSI gas.

Laser grips have an offset parallax which is meaningless in a SD situation. If you shoot better than 1" groups in a crisis, you probably wear a red cape and change clothes in a phone booth.

My M&P R8 has the V notch rear sight.

Detroit and Safariland don't carry 327 holsters with lights. Any custom holster makers you can recommend?

Macinaw, how doe you like the C-More on yours. Took one off an open gun and thought i would try it on my 327

Groo here
As the 327 is a large gun, I would check out the "Safe Packer".
Looks like a map case and fits the belt, shoulder strap,or both.
They will make a version for lights.
For me, I would use a quick on/off light ,keep on a belt clip.
Hold in off hand away from body[ bullet magnet] but can be mounted on handgun for things like opening doors, or one handed use.

C-More Railway red dot is the best for Steel Challenge competition. It is so quick to "pick up" the red dot. It make drag racing with guns fun.

I have a couple c-mores so i thought i would put one one. Bought my 327 for icore and will use in ipsc come 2017

I have a Vortex Razor which is similar to the C-More RTS2 but without the bugs on my 929 and its great
that being said I am planning to get a Trigicon RMR dual illuminated for my R8 ....I want always on and small and light
