329NG 2.5 Holster?

The DeSantis holster for the Ruger Alaskan, fits the 329NG very well. Not exactly a 'concealment' holster, but not exactly a concealment gun either.

I carry mine hiking/backpacking, and find that the Uncle Mikes Gun Pak Belt Pouch (Federal Size), if very compact and fits it nicely. (The Federal size is no longer in their catalog, but I bet there are still some out there at dealers.)

I second Varecon on the Simply Rugged pancake. Turnaround is 1-2 weeks. The 329 NG is a big gun and not easy to conceal but the Simply Rugged pancake pulls the gun in pretty tight. Nice options also for wearing exposed for fast acess in the wilds.

Thanks for the suggestions I will research them. Not exactly a concealment weapon; however, I wear my S&W 4006 or Glock 29 from October - May without a problem, and then it's the .380 IWB for the summer months.

poor luck with Mernickle Holsters

Just received a CC holster from MERNICKLE HOLSTERS

Cost was about $170, which included custom S&W logo engraving on holster. Quality of engraving was poor; not centered or properly rotated to flow with lines on holster. Leather looks cheap. Almost two months to receive but they had my money all that time. No response to my request for an adjustment.

I should have stayed with a major manufacturer.

One of the best ways to carry any gun,especialy big guns is with a quality IWB holster.

I have used Milt Sparks Summer Specials for 1911's and S&W N frames for many many years.

Hint, buy your pants 2" bigger in the waist.

If you must use an OWB holster look for a quality pancake style, as it has the belt loops on the sides of the holster, not om the back, so it holds the gun high and tight.
I am wearing a S&W 44 Mag Mountain gun in such a holster right now.

Normally I most often wear a 1911, but durring hunting season I switch to my 44 Mag.

I have never had it spotted under a untucked button down shirt.

Just a few days ago I ate lunch in a resturant, in one of the top 6 metroplexes, carrying my Mod 629, right next to 4 Police Officers, and my gun was never spotted.

Let the record reflect I was legally carrying.

I carry a 625 Mountain Gun in a Simply Rugged Sourdough. It is a very versatile holster. You can wear it as a pancake or by using the belt loops turn it into an IWB. With a little bit of thought in clothing, I can easily hide my N frames. It is also a comfortable rig. I wear it all day with a good belt and often forget the gun is even there.

One of the most important things as nawilson stated is to have a very good thick strong belt when carrying a handgun.

The Belt and the Holster are just as important as the handgun you have picked.
