340 PD No Lock?

Does S&W make this model without the internal lock? If not, of those who own one what are the good and bad points of this gun?

I have the 340 M&P sans lock and am more than satisfied w/it.

Mine had the internal lock until I pulled it out and added the plug. Like it alot. Very light gun. IMHO, the drawbacks are the cost ( I got a great deal ) and the fact that it does'nt have night sights. I have since added an xs standard dot on mine and I'm very satisfied.

I think all 340's have locks. Mine has never had a problem with the lock. I don't even know where the key is.

It is a daily carry gun, with XS tritium sights and Crimson Trace grips.

I reload, and shoot a light target load at the range. I carry the .357 125 Grain FBI load but it is unpleasant to practice with.
