I just picked up a new to me M. 342ti. It is in super shape but shoots low, as in about 4" low at 10 yards with 160 gr bullets, even lower with 148 wadcutters. The front sight is .149" high and I figure that .110" would put me close to where I want to be. Does anyone know where I could buy a S&W pinned sight of that height?
I can get a replacement sight of .149" so maybe I need to start filing.
Thanks in advance.

Great gun, but you're using the wrong ammo.

Use Speer Gold Dot 135 grain HP's or Federal Premium 129 grain Hydra-Shock's and leave the file in your tool box. ;)

s&wchad,
I have 7 other J frames in .38 or .357M. My goal is to develop a series of loads that shoot generally to point of aim in all of them and I have that in the others. The 342 is the odd man. By changing the front sight, I can bring him into the group. I can't always be shooting the expensive stuff.
