i see the 356 TSW match pistols for sale every once in a while and its chambered for a 9x 21 1/2 versus a standard 9mm which is 9x19. Do any of you forum mebers know if there is a smith or an aftermarket barrel in 9mm that can be dropped into the pistol? I would think the mags should work.
Another question....the small metral cases with a smith and wesson emblem on it. Was that ever a PC box or not?
Thanks, fellow forum members

The PC will install the 952 9mm barrels in the fullsized 356 Limited.
I had 2 done a few years ago. The 356 mags will work in 9mm, but I use the 5906 mags . Don't know if they fit the barrels to the Compact models. I have a thread on here somewhere with all the PC cases and the years they were used. Good luck

I had my 3566 Compact fitted for a 9x19mm barrel last year by the Performace Center...................AWESOME!!!!!!
I have a pair of those 3566 Compacts (3.5" Bbls.) and am wonderin if you run both springs when shootin as 9x19s or is one removed, or did the PC change to a different spring... Do you remember the cost...
Thanks and have a good one...XPman...

I have a few Performance Center guns that came in a hard case with a S&W PC emblem on it.

I had the same job done on my PC compact. I had the PC fit a new 9mm barrel but I wanted to extend it a little bit and port the end. Also had them install Novak Trijicons. Dont remember the cost but i can try and find the paperwork.

How do those ports do, can you tell a difference in muzzle flip...???
I like the looks of'em and think if I had mine rebarreled I might just get the extended Bbl. w/ports also...
Have a good one...XPman...

Wow, that seems pretty stiff, I don't think the 3.5 or 4" would be any cheaper and I'm sure the porting would be a good add on...
Thanks, and have a good one...XPman...

OK I found my paper work from the PC. My work was done is 2007 and the costs were as follows

$250 for the barrel
$88 for the dual magna-porting (they had to send the barrel off to Magnaport is what they told me)
$14 for shipping

Oh the night sights were $130

This was not cheap but I am very happy with the work from the PC

Thanks orangehole, yeah $352 for a small pistol barrel is not cheap.... But what is anymore...???
Probably run $400 or better now, think I'll wait and see how the 9x21s work out... Been a while since I had a Heavy stainless match grade BR, or long range, rifle barrel installed, so I'll not comment...
Thanks and have a good one...XPman...
