I have some old, mid 80's ,357 Winchester high velocity, they look like hollow points with a primer in the end of the bullet. Any ideas what they are.? Some my dad had years ago.

That was called EXPLODER

The primer was supposed to fragment the projectile upon impact with a hard surface

Thanks a bundle. They were still in a speed loader for one of his service revolvers from all those years ago.

There's been several brands of "exploder" type rounds sold in the past including Velex, Velet, and Bingham Exploder to name a few.

I remember reading about this many years back. Some one made these up with 1 Gr, Bullseye in the cavity over a small pistol primer in the nose. Never tried it myself.
