No, is there a model number? If that's for real I wonder why they didn't make it a Model of 1926 in 44 Special or another Model 19 version or even the HD in 38 Special, rather than something that never existed as a factory product? Any more information?

I think the closest would be an older 520 fixed rear sight .357 magnum made on the N Frame. (Photo from Google Images).

That's what I was thinking. That front sight is sort of a throwback to the half-dime sights of long ago.

My '51 M&P has pretty much the same sight.

Not a very good sight IMHO. Even orange nail polish doesn't help much.

That "engraving" is pretty lame IMHO. Really messes up the looks of the gun. The Texas Ranger logo, is OK.

Maybe they will come out with a plain Jane version. Front sight is pinned so that is an easy fix.

But of all the stuff guys are asking for in the wish list, that isn't one of them.

357 N frame

A few sellers have it listed on the big auction. Evidently a collaboration of 250 units between Davidsons and S&W. It is nearly identical to the original N frame 520 in 357 although this one has a half moon front sight. And embellishments. The sellers are referring to it as a model 20 but one seller does note model 20 is NOT marked on the gun FWIW. The pics for the sellers seem to be stock photo's and I cant zero in on the label to see what its actual model number is. The buy now price is very high. I hope they do come out with a plain jane version

Interesting! I have a 1973 Texas Ranger Commemorative set (Model 19-3), but not sure that I'd pop for this 200th Anniv. (2023) model. Looks nice though. Since it's all "scratched up", RKmesa probably already has one in his collection!

I think S&W is calling it a Model 20 Heavy Duty.

The M520 was based on the 38/44 Heavy Duty which became the M20. When you say an "older M520", they were only made for 6 months and were sold as a 1980 model, and never catalogued.

This new gun looks nice, but I agree, leave all the gold and embroidery off.
