That sounds like a serial number to me...very similar to the serial number on my S&W 66. Is there a two or three digit number on the frame near the yoke that is connected to the cylinder that you can see when it's open?

I'm sure the experts who are more informed than I will be along shortly...

You have an early 70's K frame revolver based on the serial number you have provided. Value? Depends on model and configuration. Post more info and a pic or two and someone here will give you a good idea.

Hi there Pug and welcome to the Forum!

We definitely need more information. I'm not trying to sound like a smart***, but your question is kinda like asking: "I have a silver car with a V8 engine, and here is the VIN #...what is it worth?" Give us more info and we will sure try to help!

All I can tell from your post with certainty is that you have a Model 19, early 1970s manufacture, probably a Model 19-3. To give you an idea of value, we really need more information, including barrel length (measure from the muzzle to the front of the cylinder when it is closed), grip type (factory targets, factory magnas, aftermarket wood or (gulp) rubber), whether there is a capital N stamped on the rear face of the cylinder, markings on the grip frame below the grips (you need to remove the grips for that), especially anything that is market R-N with a date, type of sights (from the serial no, you have adjustable rear sights, but you could have either a Baughmann ramp front sight or a Patridge front sight), whether there is red insert in the front sight, if there is a white outline around the rear sight opening, etc. Photos would be of immense help, as well.
