I am a huge fan of this particular model! I personally do not have one yet but based on my research and attempting to find them i can make a pretty good guess. Depending on the finish, barrel length and well as overall condition it could be worth in upwards of $1000.00 to $1300.00 maybe more depends on the specifics . You have a real gem IMHO, my favorite Smith and Wesson model is the 27 357mag 8 3/8" target in nickle finish but any 27 is an great revolver. Hope this helps.

There are a lot of factors come into play on determining value and some of them are condition, barrel length, serial number range (S Verses N), location, finish, box with paperwork and tools to name a few.
The Model 27-2 is a very popular revolver and the 3.5 inch and 4 inch are the most popular barrel lengths and seem to go for the most dollars. The 4 inch barrel is rarer then the 3.5 inch barrel but the 3.5 inch is the darling and the one everyone seems to want. The 6 inch barrel is the most common and goes for the least money in equal condition when compared to the others. The 5 inch seems to have the best balance and a lot of shooters like that barrel length. The 6.5 inch in the 27-2 is a very rare revolver and comands a preimum over the otrher barrel lengths. The 8 3/8 inch barrel seems to show up at gun shows and the asking price is usually high $700 to $750 because so few are made in that barrel length.
Go up to Gun Broker and look at at auctions for the model 27-2 and that would give you an idea of the asking prices for them and if you do an advanced search you can see what they actaully sell for.

If it has a 6 inch barrel it's probably worth about $600 if it has a 3.5 inch or 4 inch it's probably worth $750 or more depending on if it's like new and has the box, paperwork or tools with it and then it could be worth $1000 or more but we don't know because you haven't told us anything.
