General information

Mentioned earlier in this thread was the model 50, Chiefs Special Target!
The model 50 was assigned in 1962 but never used in production until 1973.
The serial numbers know for the model 50s were all in the floating J system and were from 930Jxx thru 936Jxx. There were 1132 guns produced from 1973-1977.

I’ve seen a 36-1 target with adjustable sights. But the serial number was 2J32**

I don't doubt that the SN range you referenced may be 100% correct for model-marked M50's (post 1958 production),

But FWIW there were also some earlier non-model marked examples (pre-1958) that fall outside that SN range.

I have a flat-latch 2" SB CST with SN 149995 in my little collection. I have no idea how many were produced before the model numbering system was introduced in 1957-1958. But I'm guessing it may have been less than your quoted production of 1132 units.
