36-1 nickel

I love nickel Smiths.

If you like the M36 (I'm indifferent about them) then you did well!

That to me is a good deal & would go home with me for that price in that condition. An even better deal if it had the box papers & tools.

Thanks

Thanks for the input.

Already have a 36-1 in blue, which came with a box for a nickel 36-1.

Going back for a second look.

The 36-1 came out in '67 to identify the 3" Heavy Barrel. Some of the earliest ones are known to have the diamond around the grip screw escutcheon.

There are five possibilities for which serial number series it might have. Let us know what it is, and we can get close guessing when the factory shipped it.

If it's truly 99%, $450 is a steal.

In 1988 S&W replaced the 36-1 with the 36-3.

Never take time to talk to a stranger while eating lunch at a gun show. Interesting talk, but gun was gone when I got back.
Usually I check info from the SCSW on my phone, but today it would not open.
Money I saved went towards ammo, so not a wasted trip.
Thanks for the advice.
