36-7 ship date?

Looking for a shipping date for a 36-7
s/n: BFP63xx.
I'm guessing 1990 ish
Can anyone help?

1993 seems to be the year. BTW, the M60-7 is the very best Chief's Special variation they have ever made - IMHO of course. I have one myself and it's fantastic!. It is everything you want in a revolver and nothing you don't! It was my carry piece for decades - up until 6 years ago when I switched to a P365 - but that is a story for another thread.

Based on a few others in the Chiefs database, it appears Smith &
Wesson might have shipped your Model 36-7 in spring 1993.

The significant engineering change in the Model 36-7 was growth
of the front sight from ⅒" (0.1") to ⅛" (0.125") wide.

My Model 36-7 is a Lady Smith from 1991. The inset photo shows
the difference in the front sight widths.

I transposed the s/n in my op so it might have shipped a little earlier.
I'll post a pic whenever it stops raining here so I can take a decent one.

I'm glad of the increased width but it would also have been nice if they had also increased the rear notch width.

The database doesn't list any Model 36-7s with BFP serials, but
Model 60-7s BFP4865 shipped in November 1990 and BFP8932
probably shipped in early 1991.
