Am I asking too much? Surely I'm not the only guy who would buy this:

a) I want an L-frame revolver
b) Shrouded ejector (not full underlug)
c) Choice of barrel lengths including 5"
d) Sold with 38 Sp/357 Mag and 9mm moonclip ready cylinder
e) Adjustable sights with changeable inserts

Is this too much too ask?

Be interesting to hear people's thoughts on this.

ATB,

Most of the features that you are looking for were available in the form of a Phillips and Rogers "Medusa" cylinder. It replaced the standard cylinder in a S&W M686 with an unfluted cylinder that chambered over 20 different rounds using a bullet diameter of .356-.358. This included your basic .38 Special, .357 Magnum as well as any of the rimless 9mm (9x18, 9x19, 9x21, 9x23).
Any barrel length 686 could be used and fitting the replacement cylinder was not a difficult job.

In my experience, the weak link in the converted gun was the little "L" shaped fingers that hold the rimless rounds in the cylinder. I broke one of these fingers and it took me months to find a replacement part and someone that could fit it to the gun.

Pinnacle Guns does multi-caliber rimless/clip conversions. He can set a gun up to shoot 9x19, 9x23, .38 Super in clips. But he says that although the gun will still fire .38 Special or .357 Magnum, the brass will fireform in the new tapered chamber and likely stick in place.

I don't know how P&R finessed the chamber dimensions to prevent that.

I just kinda thought what the op was looking for was a platform without a need. Then I pondered the medusa for a few minutes. I would jump on a factory platform like that.
Perfect gun for the zombie attack when you never would know what sort of ammo you might find. Or for "real" bad times caused by the actions of our government, that get us invaded.
