I'm a sucker for 4" "N" frames.
Looked for a 4" HD for a couple years and located this a few months ago.
It's in reasonable condition given it's dated to 1952 (birth year-bonus).
I did a double action trigger that's around 8 lbs. and quite smooth.
The distressed/stabilized Elk stags required a bit of fitting but worked out great (thanks bigmtman).
Holster/rig is (obviously) El Paso.

I just passed on a pre-war model last weekend as I was bidding on another gun online. Ended up with neither. Big mistake on my part.

AWESOME REVOLVER

Hi:
This past weekend I returned to my home town for my High School Reunion. Met a old buddy who use to shoot Bullseye Matches with me.
(He never married) He invited me to a shooting range the next morning. At the indoor range he bought out his old shooting box that contained: 2 S&W Model 41s, a Ruger Mk I 5.5 H.B., I S&W Model K-38 (no dash, standard hammer and trigger with a trigger shoe), 1 S&W Model 1950 Target .44spl, and 1 S&W Model 1950 .45acp Target !!!
He insisted that I shoot a relay with each weapon. Talk about going back to the past--WOW !
All the weapons were awesome, BUT I fell in love with the S&W Model 1950 .45acp Target !! The "X" ring was the only place this revolver would hit.
IF I ever win the state lottery, Jimmy will have one .
