Maybe. There are internet sources that have somewhat reasonable prices, but shipping can be high for just one box. Most dealers will not carry it, and if they do, it will probably run you $30-$40/box. They can usually special-order it for you. Gun Shows (while they still exist) may be a source if there are any in your area. Most aficionados of .38 S&W-chambered revolvers load their own ammunition and avoid the supply problems altogether.

Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself in that I am assuming your revolver is chambered in .38 S&W, and not .38 S&W Special. .38 S&W Special ammunition is readily available (or maybe WAS available until the happenings of a month ago) almost everywhere in the civilized world.

Reliable and somewhat reasonably priced .38 S&W ammo is produced by both Fiocchi and Sellier & Bellot. One manufacturer is Italian and the other Czech. I have found their products to be excellent.

The round is known as the .38 Corto in Europe (.38 short), so it may be listed that way at the internet ammunition sellers. If you can buy it 10 boxes at a time, there is a price advantage (or was -- I don't know what is happening in the current environment).

I share your appreciation for this round. It may be slightly less powerful than the .38 Special, but that does not mean it is wimpy in an absolute sense. I have some British wartime .38s that chamber this round, and some prewar S&W I-frames and top breaks that use it as well. The round definitely has its place.

I have been shooting 32 Long PPU ammo made in Serbia lately and find it to be very reliable. PPU also makes 38 S&W and it can be had for $21.00 a box, which is as cheap as I can find. Go to Ammunitiontogo.com for that price, plus shipping.

Wish I had bought more of thies:
