38 snub finals...

The Indian summer is going out the window on Tuesday so I figured I better get off the pot and go out a finish my snub nose 38 finals.
Fishing has been so good I did not want to pick up the guns but I know if I don't do it now, I will be one sorry puppy.

This post is about the 38 snub.........
Had to figure out which 158gr lead bullet was the best for the girls at BELOW the Federal 38 target standard loading for them to tinker with.

Right off the bat I messed up...............left my shooting glasses home. Had a pair that was two years old and the prescription was a little "Fuzzy" but I still got them on the paper but as you can see, they are a little right and low.

With my new glasses the POA should be at the bottom of the dot.................

Here is what took place and I was also VERY happy with my "Final" 125gr Jhp test in the snub with a minimum loading of Unique that hits a low +P at 870fps for my J frame revolver.

Ed - May I ask, what's your loading for Trail Boss? I've been thinking of experimenting with that with a 158 plated RN Flat Point.

Good Groupings! I need to get out and test some .38 Bunny Loads, using WIN231 because I have a lot of that powder.

Also interested in Trail Boss for the .38.
Unfortunately, it can't be found anywhere.

Yes I did have flyers with both SR4756 and the 158 Lswc with bull had a little "flinch"............
I was talking and shooting at the same time......sort of hard to do with ear muffs on........ "what was that " ?! At age 69, I also noticed my hand now shakes a little bit, which does not help out any with just iron sights. I just have to bear down a little more and suck it up !! Huuu Raaah.
Saw that on TV............we Navy guys don't have a cool reply, that I know of.

My M49 likes Trail Boss in the Speer 148 HBwc with cci500, 2.5gr TB at 550fps for my "X-Lite" target load.
2.7gr Bullseye at 628 is my "put them in one hole" load.

The Mag-Tech 158 LRN is best with Trail Boss with a cci500, 3.3grs of Trail Boss at 570fps and at ten feet usually puts 5 at under 1". 5.0gr SR4756 @ 522fps and 3.2gr Bull @ 572 both do well in my snub and the 6" barrel.

If any of you have a 125 lead .............in my sbub with 3.3 TB I get 600fps and 1" at ten feet with POA. 4.4gr of Universal at 600fps was a close 2nd....... something I did not suspect, with the slow powder.

Hope you can find powder and supplies. I hate having to kick out the "Haz" fee but some times you just have to .... but I try to get more powders/primers, to make up for it and only buy one or two times a year now.
