ok so i have a bodyguard and have been going through 2 boxes of tula as i'm not likely to reload for a pocket gun. i also bought a box of the hornady american handgunner. the tula appears to have a LOT more felt recoil. i would like to say it's been reliable, but today had two times it failed to go into battery. i can also feel the powder charge being a bit lighter on some shots. any one else noticed this ?

No but I don't shoot Tula ammo in anything other than Ak's or Maks. Try some better ammo. It doesn't cost that much more. Good luck, Ricci.

Yep, think I may try and track down a box of brass ammo, hate to spend the money on ammo, but may have to in order to figure out if the harsh recoil is tula related or gun related. friend's 454 casull was more pleasant to shoot.

The Bodyguard and most of the other small pocket 380 pistols have a very hard felt recoil. I have both the LCP and the Bodyguard and neither one is very pleasant to shoot! I doubt your Tula ammo has anything to do with it. If you want to change to a different ammo, I have had very good luck with the PMC Bronze 380 ammo! It's not just my opinion, but the brand gets very good reviews! Good luck - Rick

I've got the little Taurus TCP and it's very snappy, much more so than my M&P 40c or 9mm Shield plus there's not much there to hold on to. It's mostly due to the weight of the gun (or lack thereof) more than anything.

Here's another vote against the Tula stuff. From the little bit that I've shot it seemed very inconsistant and pretty dirty. There are much better choices for not much more in cost. I too have had good luck with the PMC as well as Fiocchi. Even so, most any ammo you shoot through it will be harsh compared to the larger guns.

I have heard enough about tula ammo in the past to know that I don't ever want to use it

I also have a Taurus TCP and really like it...for what it is.
Of course it's snappy, big deal. All Russian ammo is not
created equal. I have some Wolf 380 that I don't really care
for but the Silver Bear 380 I do like. Function with it has
been flawless in the TCP as well as several other larger 380s
I have. It gives higher and more consistant velocity in my
TCP than some US brands and is cheaper than any brass
cased 380 that I know of.

I ran a box of Perfecta .380 through a Mustang with no issues. I noticed tonight at WM that they have all Perfecta on rollback. The .380 was $13 and change.

I bought a 100 round can of the Tul ammo 9mm brass from Bosnia. Horrible. Very inconsistent, from rounds that actually fell to the floor at 7 yards to stuff that almost took my hand off. Spent 100 rounds listening for squibs.

NEVER again, at any price.
