Looking for clarification. Tough to get a clear answer in the search function.

I have a couple 3913 Ladysmith 9mm's. Both with 8 round mags.

Looking for "new" mags and have been offered 3913-7 round mags.

The 7 rounders are for CS9 and 3913 TSW correct? They the exact same mag or is there a difference?

What will fit and what is useable in the 3913 platform; Regular pistol and Ladysmith version (8 round). Any difference or all GTG?

Thanks in advance for the help. Best, Dave

Probably the desirable early 7rd 3913 concealment magazine - not TSW or CS9 as they will not work.

Correct in that the 7rnd magazines are not for the 3913.

Pictures left to right are 3919, 3913, 3913TSW non-railed and CS9. Of course the 8 rnd ones also were standard in the 908 series and 3914, (although maybe they were blued.)

What do the baseplates look like that you are referencing? They might be useful in your future. :D

See jsbethel's post below. Early 3913 LS guns came with a full length 7 round magazine with a flat base plate. Why S&W did it that way, no one seems to know. I had one at one time and found that I could turn it into an 8 round magazine by changing out the spring.

I wish I'd kept it. :(

Yes of course, trying to help I was picturing “standard “ magazines that are or could be readily available.

I have seen the many pictures posted by “jsbethel” of that magazine. That is a very desirable magazine. Why didn’t you keep the one you had?

Thank you for correcting my ignorant input.

Still wondering what the questioned magazines baseplates are.

Thanks Gary......If i decide to trade it I'll give you first right of refusal;).....which is a possibility since I almost always use a flat base 8 rounder

I picked up a number of these in the 90s from S&W ..... some folks there didn't even know they existed.....finally found one guy in the parts dept that knew of them and the part number. Sold me 3 for $90 IIRC. With the sales receipt had the part number. I bought several more over the next few years as I acquired several more 3913/14s and NLs. At one time S&W had just over 30 in stock......took almost 10 years for them to sell out.

Early 3913LS shipped with one of the 7rd mags and a flat bottom 8rounder.

Thanks. I'd like it as a curiosity more than a daily carry magazine.

I have plenty of flat base magazines as that's the configuration I prefer. I bought a bunch of them from S&W a few years ago. I also bought a bunch of the web shaped ones for the 3913TSW and then used them on the CS9 as well.

I don't think I have any of those left in the parts box and I'm not sure that they are still available from S&W.

Anyway, if you decide to trade, you know how to PM me. :D

As to why I didn't keep the one I had. Shortsightedness would be the answer there.
