To add to my earlier post, I took my 3913 to a Point shooting class where the class required 1200 rounds for all weekend. I was the only one without a Glock, or 1911. I got funny looks. I had 3 magazines. Yeah, the tips of my thumbs were raw and bloody from loading the ammo. Still, my gun didn't jam, fail to feed, extract, or anything. It got the respect it deserved at the end of the class.
The only thing I did was at the end of the first day, I field stripped it, cleaned it (even with copper solvent), and re-oiled it. The gun functioned perfectly. I'm not one of these guys who feels the need to put every gun through a simulated torture test. I'm not rolling around in a sandbox, going to shoot from underwater, or otherwise going to launch my gun from a canon, or drive over it with a truck. If any of these goofy things happen, I'm drawing my BUG and taking care of business. I was raised with the maxim, if you take care of your tools at the end of the day they'll take care of you. To me, the 3913 is a wonderful tool and as long as I take care of it, it will be there when I need it to take care of me.
