The other day I took my 6906 out to the range it put some rounds through it. I really like the 6906, especially the way it fits my hand with the Hogue wrap around grips. The finger grooves on the front just fit my hand and help lock the gun in to my hand. I shoot it pretty well too. Well, actually very well. With this grip the gun just points itself.

My EDC firearm is a 3913TSW with modified Hogue grips. It fits my hand pretty well, but not as nicely as the wrap around grips on my 6906. Sadly, Hogue seems never to have made a wrap around grip for any of the 3913 series or if they did, they are long out of production.

I'm going to try this product from Godagrip to see if I can recreate the same feel, but if anyone has any other suggestions (other than carry the 6906, which I've considered) I'd appreciate seeing them.

As to carrying the 6906. I've thought about it and since my 3913TSW is a pre rail version, I could swap the slide and barrel on to the 6906. The reason to do that would be the Meprolight night sights on the 3913. It's an option, I suppose.

Not sure what they are called, but the rubber sleeves that fit over the grips made by Hogue and Pachmayr have finger groves and should give you the feel that you want.

I've seen those and they'd probably work, but I can't seem to find one that will fit on the 3913 size frame.

Hi, Gary.
I think your idea of swapping slides is the easiest and most elegant, but it doesn't solve the desire to carry a slimmer pistol.
If the smaller girth of the 3913 grips don't bother you but the lack of finger grooves does, may I suggest cutting the finger grooves from a set of 6906 wrap around grips and rubber cementing them to your front strap?
Or, perhaps a set of 6906 wrap around grips narrowed at the rear to fit the 3913 and a filler under the finger grooves on the front to take up the extra space.
Didn't mean to get all "crafty" here but I'm a poor guy and I always look for cheap solutions first.
And you've probably thought of these ideas already!

I appreciate the thoughts on this. I think that one of the grips at the Pachmayr link that D Rock included in his post might work. It's interesting that they list the same slip on grip part # for the single and double stack compact guns. If the one I already ordered doesn't work I'll try that one.

Thanks again all.

What I've done on a number of my shooters... procured spare grips. Set the grips up in my mini-mill & took a pass off the front edge. I used self adhesive textured skateboard tape to cover the front strap nicely for better grip & the edges are covered by the relieved grip panels.
