I got a new S&W magazine today. Sealed in S&W box, # 190700000 also states 3913/908 curv magassy (200

My problem or question is It is so hard to load it kills my fingers. No way could I fill this magazine 15-20 times at the range. My 2 old magazines are mush easier to depress, but they have not been used more than a few hundred rounds.
I took them apart to compare and measure and here is my findings.
Both springs are .045 wire, both have 12 loops but the free standing lenghts are different...older ones are 5 1/8" long and the new one is 5 5/8" long. The new one is much stiffer and getting that last (#8) 9 MM in there is a hard two handed fight!! Any one else got measurements or thoughts on this?

2nd to jeffsmith on uplula

I load 9mm beretta and Glock hicaps with mine. A single stack S&W or 1911 is a piece of cake.

When I had my 3913 a couple of the mags had new springs & they were like that too, I also assume the springs are RED in color?
I did as handgunner356 suggested & loaded them up for a while & they became easier to load over time, plus useing them at the range seemed to make them smoother & easier to load..
