Hi Team 3rd Gen, I recently acquired a 4040 mag for use in my CS9. Yes the 4040 mag is .40 caliber and the CS9 is 9mm, but I’ve read that it fits well and works well, and it was cheap so I thought I’d try it.
Well, it seats just fine and cycles fine by hand. The only issue is that the magazine follower is shaped differently and doesn’t lock the slide back on empty. I swapped a follower from a CS9 magazine and it locked back perfectly. No problem, I thought, I’ll just buy a few extra mag followers. I went to Midway. Out of stock no back order. I went to Brownells. Nothing. I went to Numrich. Out of stock. I looked at eBay and GB - no dice. This has me worried.
Is there a source for model 3900 mag followers, or are we SOL if the break or wear out? I have 39-2, 3913, and CS9 mags with plastic followers and they all show some degree of wear. Will I be left with gun shaped bricks if all my followers wear out?
