Evening all. So after running around the internet courtesy of Google, I'm still a bit unsure on this topic. I read that 3rd gen slides are not supposed to be interchangeable because of timing issues.

The reason I'm even considering it is because as some of you know, I have a very unusual 3913. It has the NL/LS frame, but a regular 3914 slide. For those of you that don't know, yes I did letter it, and yes it did come from the factory that way.

I was browsing through Numrich and they do actually sell complete 3914NL slides. I was thinking about buying one and putting it on the 3913NL frame. What about my other slide you may ask? I just got a 6906 off everyone's favorite auction site and was thinking about putting it on there if possible because I installed Trijicons on it.

Your knowledgeable replies are most appreciated.

The combinations you describe should work without problem. I think problems occur if you try to mix TSW and non-TSW slides and frames.

Here's a 3913LS slide on a 3906 frame.

You said TSW...my heart. Waited too long on one of those NIB 5906 TSW's. :(

I have had no problem switching out tops with bottoms.

The only issue I've had, was trying to get the rear part of 3913 slides to be perfect in line with my 6906, (marked 669,) frame. One was too short, the other was too long. ALL functioned perfect. I found out here, that there were as many as three different 3913 slides, all a bit different in length/contour.

My 4516-2 slide is happy on my 4506-1 frame, as well any of the 3913 slides on my 5906.

Jim

Yeah as long as its not a TSW frame, the slides swap easily and mostly work just fine. I have (and now carry) a 915 slide on a 6906, and a 5906 slide on a 6906 was in my possession for a long time.
Also have a 4516 with 4566 slide, which in my opinion should have been a factory offering.

SOS still has 5906 TSW's, NIB for sale.

Yes, but I am stubbornly and vainly trying for one of those unicorns you know where right now. Speaking of did I correctly read that one you got from SOS is decock only? Pics don't show the safety billboard.
