Can I put a 4.25 inch m&p slide and barrel assembly on my 5 inch m&p pro or will it not fit?

Hmm maybe I should look for one then lol. Any functionality issues with the conversion?

The full size frames will take any of the full size slides, as Bkreutz said. I don't like buying guns by halves, but I do have different full size M&Ps with different slide lengths, and they can be switched, including different calibers. Cracks me up when people go on about the Pro trigger versus the CORE trigger, because they are identical; its the slides that are different.

The slide on the pro is why I went with it. Looking to have some other options when shooting the m&p that is why I asked about the slides.

By the way, I like the trigger on the full size guns. My shield trigger was great too until my job screwed it up with their trigger.

Buds is never going to get a dime from me. They refuse to ship items that are not banned to New York and refuse to send items to FFL's in NY that are specifically for LEO's who are exempt from the UNSAFE act.

One day I intend on buying a M&P full size with the safety and putting the 5" Pro slide and barrel plus the trigger group in it (since S&W does not sell the Pro with the safety) I will then resell the FS. That is the only way I can see to get the safety on my Pro.

I'm no fan of Bud's, quite the opposite in fact. On the other hand I wouldn't ship a grip screw to New York until the legislature gets their collective heads out of their sphincters. It's an unfortunate fact that it's hard to get supplied behind enemy lines.

This is why I get so frustrated with the NRA for not helping us prisoners in the Peoples Republic of New Yorkistan.

Check with Brownells about slide assemblies. You also might want to check with S&W The standard length should be available from either.

Help yourselves. The NRA NSSF and other organizations are doing all it can but if the people of New York don't want to be free there's little that can be done. Expecting companies to give you special consideration you don't give the citizens you protect isn't the way that is done. God bless you and the work you do. I hope you stay safe but you're working for the very people who caused your problem and advancing their agenda by doing it.

I feel your pain friend, but don't lay it at the feet of the NRA. I too live in a gun unfriendly state. When the rubber meets the road, it's all up to us.

If you want to trade, I'll swap my 4.25" slide for your 5" slide.

Not really looking to trade. I was looking to buy one so I can have both.
