Update, spent a good 4 hours shooting my M&P 15/22. Using several brands of ammo. I have to say, I may have picked up the best M&P 15/22 rifle made on a Wed. not Mon. or Fri. It ate up the CCI Blazer, Winchester and get this, even Remington High Vel. without a hitch. I had only 1 FTE with the Rem. I ran 250 rounds with this. I even told my friend he could have the bulk of Rem. 450 if it jams on my M&P. He had a AR15 with dedicated 22LR upper and he used a box of Rem. and it had FTF and FTE on his weapon. My Mags feed fine, finger is tender from the loading, the assist really helps. Hints, oil the mag lips, wipe them down, to really eliminate feeding issues.

I zeroed in my iron sights at 50yards (Using my friend as a spotter), then with the SightMark Red Dot. Dialed it in with 1" groups of 3 rounds. What a figgin delite to shoot. We ended up shooting over 1000 rounds and no issues what so ever. So from 1 to 10, I'm giving my M&P 15/22 a 10.. Keepem in the 10 ring, I can't wait to back up.

PS: My friend, has his eye out on a M&P now, he was impressed with it.

Same here man, Shot almost 1000 rounds through her as well. Cleaned twice. Went w my buddy once and 2 days later the Bastage went and got the same Gun. Can be mad cuz it's a great Lil Plinker for the Price. so I went ahead and ordered me up a Nice set of magpul furniture to set us apart. because just like w our Motorcycles he won't spend extra coin to Mod.

J22LR1der, 10-4 great rifle, we really had fun shooting. My friend who had the CMMG upper AR didn't shoot much of his due to FTEs and FTF with the Remington ammo. I liked the weight of the full size CMMG but the action was different, the last shot the bolt held back from the mag not the bolt latch, so out went the mag, in went the new mag, but I had to charge it instead of just hitting the bolt latch. Not true AR stuff for sure.
Here my MOE version of the M&P that I did to upgrade it:

Beautiful rifle. That's about the same thing my friend wants to do to his. Does anyone make gray or graphite colored furniture?

Nope, not by manufacturer (at this time) only OD Green, Black, Flat Dark Earth by Magpul. You do have the option of Duracoat till you heart desires. I may add highlites to the FDE on my M&P. I saw one that used a tight netting, dark spray highlites, looks very cool..

Now S&W does sell different color furnitures for the M&P but take a look and try not to vomit in your mouth, I did... a Pink M&P, they hit the mark on the M&P but took crack on the color combo's... ***..

4 hours of shooting...I need to do that soon! Been going to indoor ranges too much lately.

What optic do you have on your 15-22 aceman?

I have a vortex strikefire 1x red/green dot on mine. Its a great optic for the $ and you can co-witness the iron sights.

Ghost Soldier, It's a SightMark SM13041 Red Dot, $79 at RRAGES with a A.R.M.S. clone with 1/2 riser $42 (Ebay). Magpul MBUS for co-witnessing. Also a rubber cover on the SM13041 from RRAGES as well, $10. I love this setup, it is a copy of my AR15 with Aimpoint ML3 with A.R.M.S. cantilever mount and MBUS. I have a problem putting a Red Dot that cost more than the rifle, thus the SightMark. I have the Vortex Strikefire on my other AR15 and love it as well.

Hahaha yea I agree with you about using optics that cost more than the firearm does. I'm very pleased with the strikefire myself but the 2x magnifier isn't really the best. Here's a pic of mine, I just put all the od green furniture on it.

This is not True, I have on order a set of Foliage Green.
Which is a Greenish Gray but more dark grayish.

Hahah, same here BUT I have been thinking about the Aimpoint or Eotech for my AR-15 build so you could always pull it off and put it on either rifle. I really like the ruggedness of both optics & think that that makes me feel better spending the money on them. I've been shooting for a year and have never shot with optics before, I wanted to get really good at iron sights before doing that.

Great, I stand corrected, thanks for the update.... Keep them coming, more option for us to make the M&P more personnel..

Back to a new range, Chabot Range in Hayward Ca. Very nice range, but I'm not use to public ranges, "Place weapon on table, open breach, step behind red line, check targets, DON'T STOP AT TABLE...". We did have fun, can't do double taps "NO RAPID FIRE ON LANE 51".. OK, I get it.. Took my partner, Officer at work, to his range so he could shoot my M&P 15/22, he had a smile a mile wide, then the yelling started from the guy in the booth... Oh well, back to my PD range..

Oh, back to the M&P, another 1000 rounds only 1 FTF and I think it was my friend... CCi Mini mag rocks.. Love this weapon.. 25 and 50 yards with 1.5 groups at the 25 and 2 to 3 at the 50 yard.. All acceptable for a 22LR CQB setup...

i have around 2500 rnds thru mine and have had no failures with about every ammo available........i love my 15/22

I'm a happy camper, found some CCI Tactical 22LR at a gun store in San Bruno California, Talbor's. They only had 5 boxes (375 rounds per box) so I grabbed 3 boxes at $24 per box, a little high in price but the quality of the ammo is top notched. I compared it to my Winchester at home and the bullets are seated tight in the casing, Winchester bullets are loose and spin. I think that is why I'm getting flyers and wide grouping with the Winchester. The CCI Bulks are tight, I see this CCI tactical to be the same or better since it is also jacketed instead of lead. I can't wait to go shooting in a few days to test this out. Happy Holidays.

Note: CCI dropped the power in the CCI Tactical from 1235 fps to 1200 fps, they also made the bulletnose more round and pointed to aid in feeding in Semi-autor tactical type weapons LIKE the M&P 15/22. They say the drop in power helps with extraction by reducing spinning casings due to the higher charge.. What ever, I will test this soon.... Zombies look out..

Actually, my wife has one and loves it. I don't care if they make them purple with green polka dots. If it gets my wife out shooting with me, it's fine.

Only problem with shooting the M&P15-22 is the time it takes to load the magazines! I have six of 'em and darned if they're not empty within a couple of minutes. Here on the North Coast it's a PITA to load them on the range...

Chuck, yea, right, I loaded all my mags prior to going on the Public Range, shot thru them so fast I was back to re-loading. One thing I like from purchasing bulk loads are it's free in a box. I purchased the CCI Bulk and they came pre-boxed in a box, I had to dump them out and load, more down time.. I wanted to just shoot this thing, felt like a kid in a candy store. For the first time, I was praying for a Zombie attack so I could prove my manlyhood.. Then I woke up... Keepem in the Xring guys.

Was looking at "YouTube" and found this guy that trains very much like we do, he is very efficient, fast and smooth.. Notice his placement of his left hand, very close to the front sights.

Note: I know not all on this forum can train like this on a public range, but I wish you guys could, it is the best training you can get using the AR15 and side arms available. If you can find a private shooting range that would be great.

Definitely hard to do that at a public range. I think one close to me may but they charge $30 for 2-3 hours. I don't own a holster or a sling(yet) anyways. I'm looking forward to going to the desert soon.
