Digging around in the safe and came across a purchase I made a while back, 4" K22 that someone has chromed. They did it pretty tastefully by leaving the correct parts blue, but it doesn't look very good, and they changed out the ramp front site with what appears to be a latter red insert front site. Originally when I bought it I said that it will just be a beat around .22, maybe my sons first pistol, but now of course I would like to get it blued, what do you guys think? And if it is to get it blued, where to send it.

added, it has a decent set of diamond magnas on it, but they are not numbered to it

If it were my gun I'd keep it and shoot it. The nice thing about one like that is that you can toss it in a holster, bang it around a bit in use, and it won't be worth a penny less later. . . . .and will still shoot just fine.

I've had a few guns re-blued and never was really happy with any of them. I do have a few S&W refinished guns done back in the '50s-'80s with which I am very pleased. However I don't think the work (and finish) done by S&W now will come close to the original blue. And the cost, maybe $400 or so, is well on the way to buying another K22, a new stainless 617 can be had for $600ish.

Your gun, your money, but I'd keep it as is. Good luck.
