Howdy all, whenever I am in the backyard disposing of woodchucks with my trusty 48 .22 Mag, the spent shells will not fall out on their own. I have to get a scratch awl and push out the spent rounds. I am shooting CCI Maxi Mag 40 grain jacketed hollow points. Any suggestions? Thanks

As Jeff said, I would remove the cylinder, soak it in your favorite solvent (Hoppes, etc), and I would use a brass wire brush in each cylinder. It will be easier to work on with the cylinder out rather than mounted on the yoke.

If that doesn't get it, a visit to gunsmith.

Why would you use a brass brush? Brass leaves deposits on blued steel. Seems like that's the last thing you would want to do in already tight chambers.

A bronze brush will clean without leaving deposits on blued steel. That would be my recommendation.
