great price for a Chief's Special

You should jump on it.

these are going for $400+ in good condition; $500 LNIB and $600+ NIB

That's at least $100 less than the current going price for any of the CS line pistols. The CS40 is the rarest of the three models as it was only manufactured for three years (1999-2002) making it a super deal at $350. Snag it if you can.

The CS40 is one of my favorites. It's accurate, reliable, and super easy to carry concealed. I didn't care for the factory-supplied Hogue grips, but the Big Dog took care of that problem. :)

Thats a great deal.

Thats a great deal!
In my opinion, it's a LOT softer shooting than a Glock 27.

CS 40 compared to Glock

think-mac (great name by the way)

no disrespect meant to you and your comment, nor am I a "glock hater", but IMO there is no way a Glock compares in ANY category to a CS40, nor to any 3rd generation S&W compact gun for that matter.

First of all, except for the 3913/4013 (a little larger) and the Kimber Solo (a little pricier, some say possibly more finicky about what to feed it), there are no other all metal framed modern 9mm's that compare to the CS9's, 40's and 45's. With all of the current enthusiasm for CCW, it just boggles my mind that S&W won't make runs of these and the 3913/4013's every year.
