Has anyone used the M&P Pro in 40 S&W with reduced velocity loads? I have a bunch of 40 S&W cases and bullets and would like to load 165 gr at ca 800 fps or 180 gr. at ca 750 fps.

My M&P9Pro works well with the normal loads and my M&P45 functions reliably with reduced velocity bullseye pistol loads (185 gr. LSWC at 720 fps).

I am planning to do the same thing as soon as I can find 40 pro 5" locally.

I have found that the lighter load are best made with a fast burning powder to go it more "oompf to cycle the slide.

I'm shooting my M&P40 with both 165 and 180 grain Ranier copper plated bullets over 5.4 gr Accurate #5 -- a relatively low power load that cycles the gun without fault. I do not have a chrono but estimate the recoil to be about the same as my M&P9 with standard 124 grain JHP loads. In short, one of the benefits of hand-loading is down-loading, saving some money and getting some easy time on the .40.
