Im looking for ideas, ideas on what others have used in their 4006s that gave good results as far as expansion, with the best accuracy.

Im enjoying my 4006.I got rid of the slick plastic grip and went with an aftermarket hogue,I have big hands.Ive been getting the cheap winchester white box fmj and now feel comfortable enough in its performance to see if I can use a better round for stopping power and better accuracy. I need to further research it.Accuracy has been fair-good, but I know it can do better.

Thanks.

Ammunition will perform out your 4006 no different than when shot out of any other .40 S&W with a 4" barrel. Any far as reliability is concerned, I've never owned any 3rd Gen pistol in any caliber than didn't handle anything I shot through it. These pistols are incredibly reliable.

My personal self-defense ammo preference in .40 S&W is the Remington 165gr Golden Saber load.

We were issued the 4006 at the Clarke county GA PD starting in about 1992. Issued ammo was always the Silvertip 155 grain. Of all the shootings we had, no bad guys survived when shot with it. They carry the same load in their plastic guns now.

Thanks.

Reliability has been excellent,no issues in slow fire as well as rapid shots.I was curious if these pistols have a favorite load that they liked in as far as accuracy-my other pistols each have a specific load that they perform best with,i.e, my 357 gp100 likes 125 grain remingtons jhp and does very well with them.

Im going to get some 155 as well as some 165 grain loads and try them out as suggested. Thanks for the heads up.
