I was looking in the Classifieds and saw an interesting gun for sale
Is there a kit made that I could convert my 4006 to a 10mm?
I am not sure why but my 4006 is a favorite this would take it the next level
I dont know why I have a few guns but I hold the 4006 and just get a warm fuzzy

Thanks Hank

Your frame is too short to fit the longer 10mm round.

Not true. Max. COAL for a 45 and 10mm are approximately the same. In fact the 45 is longer in my Hornady manuals.

Why as a matter of fact there is. Smith and Wesson in their wisdom made a 10mm kit. It slims down the frame to single stack and comes with its own 9 shot mags.

Now, what was the name of that kit? Ten-something.........

You are correct. Less than a couple hundreds of an inch between the .45 and 10mm. Except he's not asking about a .45. He's asking about converting a 4006 to 10mm. The 4006 is .40 S&W not a .45.
Surfgun is correct. COAL for the .40 is 1.135" and for a 10mm is 1.26"

.40 S&W caliber pistols are not long enough in their operating stroke to handle the longer cartridge length of the 10mm or .45 ACP. That was the whole reason for the .40 S&W in the first place - to put the reduced 10mm ballistics of the FBI's "ideal" defensive round into pistols designed to fire cartridges fitting the 9mm length envelope.

You can buy a 4506 or several other iterations of the 3rd gen 45's.

If you buy a 4506 for such a conversion, make certain it is the "-1" variation that had the dimensions designed to handle the pressure of the 10mm cartridge, rather than the 645 or the original 4506, which had thinner frame dimensions and did not hold up to the pounding of the full power 10mm.

The idea of converting is just silly. Just buy a 1006.

That should be most 40 S&W pistols. Several have been manufactured that comply with 10MM specs.

The Mauser M2 in 40S&W is an easy 10MM conversion.

The 4013/4014/4053 family of firearms can also be converted. Plus the CS40 is was also built to 10MM dimensions.

The HK USPf in 40S&W can also be converted to 10MM.

Unfortunatly the OPs 4006 was built specificly for the 40S&W and is not easily convertible

Well restraint stinks
last week.on another forum a Delta Elite came up at a great deal I had some bills needed to square so I passed
had Ill take it 3 times but just needed to wait
now I am ticked I should have stepped up but I did the.right thing at the.time
1006s and Deltas are just seems to be thin and when you do find them lots of people are sure they are a bond character
The man with the Golden gun

but than so do I at times
