Hi: Could anybody tell me how old this is? Serial # vbv31xx. Any thoughts on price? It looks pretty good in pictures. Any problems particular to this model? I own a Model 4013TSW and CS36. If this 4006 is anything like those, I'm gonna buy it. Thanks for any help or opinions.

Well, according to the bible(SCSW)the 4006 was produced between 1990 & 1999. I don't know if there were any more production runs after that. It was a VERY popular weapon with LE. I own one myself, a Cali Parks Bear edition. As far as the differences between your 4013TSW(one of which I also have)& the 4006, weight & size would be the biggest. It weighs about ten more ounces than the 4013, & it is a full size pistol, as opposed to the compact 4013. Of the two , I prefer the 4013. Depending on what you want it for, the 4006 can be an excellent choice. While harder to use for concealed carry, it can be done. Its also a lot of fun at the range, & an excellent night table gun. It just depends on your needs. As far as cost, of course these days its hard to say. Before the insanity, I payed $500 for mine, in box, excellent condition, with four magazines. They seem to be readily available, so some shopping around should enable you to find a good deal. Hope this helps you!:D

Thank you! Not for carry. Just up at the deer camp to fend off the wolves and bears, and I guess we got mountain lions in the area. Guys asking $500 with 6 boxes of Hp ammo and 8 mags.

Man, I would be all over that! Depending on condition, of course. I think the 4006 would be good for what you describe. Not sure about bears, though. Best of luck!
